While we may use some loose language and try to have fun with the site, we are very serious about your privacy. Most sites hire an expensive lawyer to remove as much liability as they can from themselves and push it all onto you doing your "due diligence."

While we must remove as much liability as possible, we hope that the language in this document will make it very clear how this website operates with regard to your personal information and allow you to make an informed decision if you would like to continue using the services we provide.

This document has been entirely crafted by the founder of 2BlocksEast in an honest effort to show, in plain english, how committed we are in protecting our user base.

Personal Information

During the account registration process we ask you to provide us with some personal information (your name, birth date, email address, zip code, etc). We do this to provide a rich and personalized experience across the website. This information is not gathered for the purpose of profit. This information may be used for statistical analysis, website research, and may be used in various places throughout the site with your explicit permission.

Transmission of Personal Information

As with any website on the internet, you should make sure that your connection is secure when providing personal information. This means making sure the webpage you're viewing is over SSL (https://) and that you have verified the information provided by the certificate authority. We make every reasonable effort to provide you with a SSL link when possible, however, should you be presented with a form that is not secured, simply change the http:// to https:// the URL in the address bar of your browser to initiate a secure connection.

Email Address Collection and Spam

We collect email addresses for the purpose of identifying a user and that users friends across our network. We send email communications only when asked, with a couple exceptions.

You can expect to receive an email immediately following your registration and if you reset your password. We also permit our members to send invitations to their friends to join the network. All emails sent to non-members (invitations) and all optional emails (event updates, marketing information, etc.) are accompanied with an opt-out link which will effectively block any further email communication from 2BlocksEast.

We do not, nor will we ever, sell email addresses to a third party.

Data Storage

We make every reasonable effort to store your personal data in a secure database that is not accessable to the outside world. Passwords are always stored using a strong one-way encryption rendering them useless should they ever be exposed.

Data Removal

At your request, the user, we will remove all traces of information provided by you while you were a member of 2BlocksEast. Our policies for identifying a user as the rightful owner of an account may change over time so we ask that you simply make a request using our contact form and we will provide the necessary information for you to complete the process.
